History

BMW was officially founded in 1917, but the important origins of the company’s name go back to 1880, when the corporate was financing the German Air Force at that point.

 Both Carl and Gustavo Otto are the primary founders of this company.The company began to manufacture aircraft engines within the first years of its establishment, and in 1923 it produced motorcycles and in 1929 it began to manufacture cars.

The beginning within the automotive industry

Eisenach in 1928, BMW took over the wagon factory in Eisenach, the factory for a little van Dixi, and upgraded it to an automobile factory.
